Terms and Conditions

Here's the legal stuff that relates to any order placed with MAXON Computer Ltd (maxonshop in UK/Eire). It's here to protect both us and you if things go wrong; however we will always do our utmost to ensure that things do not go wrong and that all this will not matter.Company's standard conditions of sale.

All orders are accepted by the Company subject to the following conditions of sale.


"The Company" means MAXON Computer Ltd "The Purchaser" means any third party to whom the Company may agree to sell goods in accordance with the Company's standard conditions of sale. "The Goods" means the articles or things or any part or parts of them to be provided by the Company in accordance with the Company's standard conditions of sale.

All orders are accepted by the Company subject to the following conditions of sale.


Payment for CWO (Cash With Order) sales within the UK shall be made with cleared funds (company cheque, wire payment, credit/debit card). Cheques over £50 in value covering cash with order sales, may require up to 5 working days clearance from date of receipt. Payment will only be cashed by the Company on or about the day that the Goods are despatched.

The ownership of the Goods to be delivered by the Company will only be transferred to the purchaser when he has paid all that is owing to the Company no matter on what grounds. Until payment as aforesaid the relationship of bailor and bailee shall subsist between the parties. Until the date of payment the Purchaser, if the Company so desires, is required to store the Goods in such a way that they are clearly the property of the Company.

No extended credit allowed.

Money-Off Vouchers

Money Off Vouchers can only be redeemed at our website They cannot be redeemed at,, or the International Money Off Vouchers have a cash redemption value of 0.001p and are not transferable or assignable. When using a Money Off Voucher, the balance due on the order must be paid by credit or debit card.

Money Off Vouchers expire after a certain time from the date of issue, where permissible under applicable law. Money Off Vouchers cannot be applied to previously placed orders. Money Off Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with EARLYBIRD offers or any other discount offers. Only one Money Off Voucher can be issued to a customer at any one time.


Prices quoted by the Company are strictly new and current at the time of publication. While every endeavour will be made to maintain them at their present low level we reserve the right to effect changes without prior notice.


The Company shall deliver the Goods to any premises (whether in the United Kingdom or in any other country) notified to the Company by the Purchaser within 28 days of the order being placed and for the avoidance of doubt the Purchaser shall be liable for any costs incurred by the Company in relation to carriage postage and packing and any other applicable duties taxes and charges.

If the Company cannot deliver the Goods within 28 days of the order being placed the Purchaser has the right either to cancel the order or to agree another delivery time with the Company.

The Company shall use its reasonable endeavours to deliver the Goods to the premises stated by the Purchaser by any delivery date estimated by the Company and for the avoidance of doubt the Purchaser acknowledges that the delivery date is not guaranteed or of the essence of these Terms & Conditions and that the Company shall in no circumstances be liable to the Purchaser for any losses, damages or charges incurred by the Purchaser due to the late delivery of the Goods.

Goods delivered to the Purchaser shall be inspected by the Purchaser immediately upon delivery and in all cases the Purchaser shall inform the Company in writing within 7 (seven) days of delivery of any damage, shortages or non delivery of the Goods. This does not affect the Purchaser's rights as a consumer.

If the Purchaser fails to take delivery of the Goods (or fails to give the Company adequate delivery instructions at the time stated for delivery otherwise than by reason of any cause beyond the Purchaser's reasonable control or by reason of the Company's fault) then without prejudice to any other rights or remedies available to it the Company may: Store the Goods until actual delivery and charge the Purchaser for the reasonable costs (including insurance) of storage; or Sell the Goods at the best price readily obtainable (after deducting all reasonable storage and selling expenses) and charge the Purchaser any shortfall below the price obtained under these Terms & Conditions.

Order Cancellation

In accordance with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, the Purchaser must inform the Company of his/her decision to cancel an order within the time limits shown below:
  • Goods - seven working days starting with the day on which they are delivered.
  • Services - seven working days starting with the day on which the consumer agreed to go ahead with the contract.

If the Purchaser decides to cancel, the Company will refund the money as soon as possible and at the latest within 30 days of receiving written notice of the Purchaser's decision to cancel. The Purchaser may, at the Company's discretion, only be charged for the cost of returning the goods.

Purchasers cannot cancel an agreement or return goods for:
  • services which begin with their agreement before the end of the seven-working-day cancellation period;
  • goods or services the price of which is dependent on fluctuations in the financial market;
  • goods made to their personal specifications;
  • goods which by reason of their nature cannot be returned (e.g. electricity) or are liable to deteriorate rapidly (e.g. flowers);
  • sealed audio or video recordings or computer software which they have subsequently opened; sealed audio or video recordings or computer software which they have subsequently opened or which has been delivered electronically;
  • newspapers, periodicals or magazines; or
  • betting, gaming or lottery services.


In accordance with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, the Purchaser must ensure that (s)he takes reasonable care of goods and returns them to the Company (or its representative).

When returning an order, to avoid damage in transit please ensure that goods are packaged securely, in the original packaging if possible.

In order to facilitate the returns procedure it will be helpful if you contact us to obtain a Returns Number, which you should write clearly on the outside of the packaging when returning the goods.

Collections can be arranged at cost.


Single invoices are rendered, a charge will be made for additional copies.

Shortages & Damages

Claims for shortages or damage to Goods will not be accepted unless notified to the Company 7 days from date of invoice of the Goods. Full details of the circumstances on any loss must be given and packaging, etc., retained. Admitted shortages will be replaced at the previously invoiced price quoting invoice number.



Availability of products is generally by return for Goods in stock. The Company will use its best endeavours to deliver by the date specified but shall be under no liability whatsoever for delay or the consequence thereof however caused.

Change of Product Specification

The Company's policy is one of continuous improvement and the Company reserves the right to make reasonable changes to product specifications at its discretion.

Copyrights & Patents

Products offered may be the subject of patents or other legal protection. The Company accepts no liability for infringement of any such rights.

All Goods manufactured or sold by the Company are warranted free from defect caused by faulty materials or workmanship for a period of 12 months unless otherwise specified from the date of despatch, and could be replaced at our discretion.

Any claim under guarantee must be made in writing. The Goods in question to which the claim refers must be returned to us within 12 months from the date of despatch suitably packed, carriage prepaid and accompanied with proof of purchase (delivery note or invoice) and details of nature of defect. Software programs are supplied on the strict understanding that the seller does not guarantee the intellectual contents to be free from errors and omissions.

The Company reserves the right to discontinue any product, or make design changes, or use different suppliers or manufacturers to those advertised, without prior notice, as part of our continuous process of product and service improvement, or to improve product availability. The information contained in advertising, brochures etc. is correct to the best of our knowledge at time of going to press.

Important Notice

The Company expressly disclaims any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose unless such fitness for purpose has been previously agreed with the Purchaser. The Purchaser must understand that the Company does not make any general representation that Goods purchased will suit the Purchaser's particular purpose. The Purchaser must rely on its own skill or judgement in selecting the Goods.

This clause does not affect the Purchaser's statutory rights as a consumer.

Products sold through which do not have the MAXON brand name are serviced and supported exclusively by their manufacturers in accordance with terms and conditions packaged with the products. MAXON Computer's warranty does not apply to products that are not MAXON-badged, even if packaged or sold with MAXON products. Please contact the manufacturer directly for technical support and customer service.

Technical Advice

Warranty shall not be affected by and no obligation or liability shall result from providing technical advice or service in connection with the Purchaser's order or the Goods supplied.

Remedies & Damages

The Company shall not incur any liability under the above warranty unless:

(a) the Company is promptly notified in writing upon discovery by the Purchaser that such Goods do not conform to the warranty; and

(b) the alleged defective Goods are returned to the Company, carriage prepaid and

(c) examination by the Company of the Goods shall confirm that the alleged defect lies with the Goods and has not been caused by misuse, neglect, method of storage, faulty installation, handling, testing or repair, or by alteration or accident.

Generally, the Company's liability shall be limited to replacing, repairing or issuing credits at its option for any Goods returned within the above-mentioned period. If the Goods are returned within a reasonable time due to being faulty and are accepted as faulty by the Company, the Purchaser will be offered a refund for the Goods returned.

The Company shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages for any breach hereof, including but not limited to costs of removal and reinstallation of Goods, loss of goodwill, loss of profits or loss of use. Where Goods are sold under a consumer transaction (as defined by the Consumer Transactions [Restrictions on Statements] Order 1976) the statutory rights of the Purchaser are not affected.

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England.

Export or Import Licences

The Purchaser shall be responsible for obtaining all licences for the export or import of the Goods and for obtaining any other licences required for the delivery or sale of the Goods in the country of destination.
Force Majeure

The Company shall not be liable to the Purchaser or be deemed to be in breach of these Terms & Conditions by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of the Company's obligations in relation to the Goods, where the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the Company's reasonable control and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing the following shall be regarded (without limitation) as causes beyond the Company's reasonable control:
  • Acts of God, explosion, flood, tempest, fire or accident;
  • War or threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance or requisition;
  • Acts, restrictions, regulations, bye-laws or measures of any kind on the part of any governmental parliamentary or local authority;
  • Import or export regulations or embargoes;
  • Strikes, lockouts or other industrial actions or trade disputes (whether involving employees of the Company or of a third party);
  • Difficulties in obtaining raw materials, labour, fuel, parts or machinery;
  • Power failure or breakdown in machinery.
