Perpetual Licence Benefits

Perpetual licences have several key benefits:

  • They run indefinitely - You can use these as long as you like, even if you don't upgrade in the future.
  • Can be logged as an asset in your accounts - You can log these as an asset value in your accounts as perpetual licences can be resold in the future, if you wish. Their value can be determined by the subtracting the cost to upgrade it to the latest version.
  • Can be sold to someone else - If you ever need to, perpetual licences can be sold to someone else.
  • Very reasonable maintenance costs - After the initial outlay, MSA costs to keep the software current are very reasonable. For example, the annual cost to maintain Studio is £520 ex VAT a year currently.

Licence Type

Cinema 4D perpetual licences come in two types:

  • Single-Seat - These licences can be installed on a single machine only unless you add a MAXON Service Agreement. Adding this increases install rights to two machines so long as only one is used at a time (for example, on a desktop while at work and on a laptop while at home). If you require more than one licence, discounts are available. Simply pick the relevant rate and choose the number of licences required in Quantity, next to the Add to Cart button.
  • Multiple-Seat - These licences can be installed on as many machines in one location as you like. Licences are authorised by a MAXON Licence Server which needs to be purchased separately here.

MAXON Service Agreement (optional add-on)

A MAXON Service Agreement (MSA) is a cost-effective way to keep your Cinema 4D, BodyPaint 3D or other software up to date as well as providing other benefits. You can purchased the MSA for one or two years.

To qualify, you need to own the latest version of your MAXON software and you need to agree to the terms and conditions of the MSA Contract. If you don't currently own the software, you can buy a short-term licence or a perpetual licence.

MAXON Service Agreement Benefits

  • Provides you with upgrades to your MAXON software version. This works out considerably cheaper than manually upgrading from release to release.
  • For a Non-Floating Licence - Enhanced install rights that allow the licence to be installed on a second computer (home office or portable) for the licencee's exclusive use. Only one of the installations can be run at any one point.
  • Membership to MAXON's online training portal for the same period as your MSA. Cineversity provides access to thousands of Cinema 4D online tutorials and some useful plugins.

Once purchased, your MSA will start from the 1st of the next month. For example if purchased on 16th February, the start date of the MSA would be 1st March.

Any future upgrades to your current software will be delivered as an electronic download. If you require media too, this can be purchased separately for an additional fee.

Please note that if you own any additional products such as a licence server, these also need to be covered by Maxon Service Agreements.
